TWOPART OR SPLIT
Principle
The twopart airco type has a part that radiates cool and a part that radiates heat. The parts are connected by a 2 inch umbilical cord through which cooling fluid is exchanged. The cord is at maximum 15 feet long. The cold internal part can be placed anywhere in the room. The hot part stands outside.

Capacity
A large cooling capacity from 3 to 5,5 KW. In contrast to the exhaust-hose airco, no air is blown out of the room.

Cord and position of the external part
The hot part is placed outside on a porch or hung out of the window with the help of straps. Sometimes the hot part is placed in an adjacent unused room.
The umbilical cord is most often guided through a window, which is then ajar. Sometimes a small 2 inch hole is drilled in the wall.

Dehumidification
As important as temperature is humidity. This airco dehumidifies well en therefore creates condensation water. This water is guided through the umbilical cord to the outside and there it evaporates on the hot part of the airco

Energy consumption
This is an energy-efficient type, therefore the needed capacity is low: about 800 Watt. Even our heaviest split type can be run on a standard wall-socket.

In general
This aircotype is more energy efficient and more quiet, than the type with exhaust hose. The issue is if it is possible to place the hot external part outside.
